        Jouni Lattu
        Customer Account Lead @ VTT

        Jouni Lattu is a Customer Account Lead at VTT in Finland,  focusing the project sales on global high impact packaging value chains. He has an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Tampere and Chalmers. Jouni has spent his career mostly with European packaging converting at Huhtamaki, McDonald’s, WinCup and SoloCup, and the most recent 10 years at VTT, working on novel bio-based plastics, nano-fibrillated cellulose, and other modified fibre products.

        Innovation Partnerships for Sustainable Packaging Materials

        Anke Hampel

        Anke is a member of Tetra Pak’s global Procurement Leadership Team, driving excellence in the company’s sustainability and innovation approach. By focusing on the brand’s promise to protect what’s good - food, people and the planet - Anke and her team are ensuring progress towards Tetra Pak’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This includes developing the key innovation partnerships that help the company’s future package to be fully made of responsibly sourced renewable or recycled materials, fully recyclable and carbon neutral.

        Anke is also coordinating for Tetra Pak’s strategic program on renewable and recycled content. In 2020, she has created the ‘Join us in Protecting the Planet’ supplier initiative, which is driving a 50% greenhouse gas emissions reduction effort as one of twenty actions for 2030. In addition, Anke is representing Tetra Pak in the Plastic Waste Coalition of Action by Consumer Goods Forum.

        Anke is a German citizen, based in Lausanne, Switzerland. She holds a diploma in international business studies from Dresden University, Germany. Anke joined Tetra Pak in 2017 and previously held positions within Procurement and Finance in the Consumer Goods Industry.

        Katrin Molina-Besch
        Associate senior lecturer at Packaging Logistics @ Lund University

        The industrial perspective on bioplastics in relation to sustainability targets for food packaging – Results from a stakeholder study in Sweden

        The presentation will focus on how industrial stakeholders reason about the potential advantages and disadvantages of different types of bioplastics in relation to the packaging sustainability targets of their companies.

        Katrin will present preliminary results from an ongoing interview study that is part of the research program STEPS (Sustainable Plastics and Transition Pathways) at Lund University. The goal of the study is to provide insights into the perceptions of industrial stakeholders about bioplastics as a food packaging material. The interviews were performed among representatives from packaging companies, food producers and food retailers in the Swedish context.

        Katrin Molina-Besch

        Katrin Molina-Besch is a researcher and an associate senior lecturer in the Division of Packaging Logistics at Lund University, where she is also responsible for the Master level course “Packaging technology and development”.
        Throughout her scientific career, Katrin has focused her research on how companies handle environmental requirements during packaging development and to this day continues to spread knowledge about how different environmental requirements should be prioritized in packaging development to reduce the overall environmental impact in the food supply chain.

        Fighting global warming through science based targets

        Louise will explain how BillerudKorsnäs have worked towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions so far and provide insights from their process of setting science-based targets. How were the new targets set? How is the company planning on achieving them and what are the big challenges ahead? These questions will be the focus of Louse's presentation.

        Louise Wohrne

        Louise is an engineer with a MSc in Biotechnology from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. She has been with BillerudKorsnäs since 2011 in different roles, most of them related to sustainability. Louise is heading BillerudKorsnäs’ Sustainability & Public Affairs team, responsible for developing the sustainability agenda in the company, reporting and supporting the business. Louise was leading the work in setting BillerudKorsnäs’ Science Based Targets in 2017 and her passion is to drive sustainability throughout the company, ensuring that the company contributes to a sustainable future.
